My big Aussie vacation

So, I'm back from Australia and New Zealand now. I've been back for a few days, but jetlag has been kicking my ass, so I haven't bothered writing until now.

First off, my trip was amazing, and I really didn't want to leave. Seriously, Mika's mom lives in Noosa, which is possibly the prettiest beach town I've ever been to. I also didn't want to leave Mika, of course, but I know I'll see him again in six months, and then he and I will be together permenantly.

My week and a half in New Zealand was not exactly the best start to my trip. Auckland was fun to be in, and the town Mika's dad lives in, Ohakune, was really beautiful...however, I got a really nasty cold two days after arriving there. Yeah, that was a bummer. After that though, it was really nice. Paavo and Boo (his dad and his soon to be wife) were really nice to me. It was nice just being able to relax and enjoy the scenery...and play with FooFoo, their extremely awesome blue healer. The only downside to New Zealand is that once you get out of a big city by much, there really isn't anything around except mountains and sheep. But overall, it was a beautiful experience, and I was happy to be there.

After that, we flew over to Australia and headed pretty much directly to his mom's house in Noosa. There are four fantastic things about this place: His mom is awesome, her cooking is fantastic, the scenery is amazing, and Gemma is the coolest dog on Earth. If I could, I'd just live next door and spend my days playing with Gemma, going to the beach, eating good food, and having sex. That would truly be the perfect life. But I can't do that....though I enjoyed the lifestyle for a couple of weeks :)

Let's see...after a week there, Mika and I stopped in Brisbane for a night to go to a party with the boys in the house (Liam, John, Kronk, and Doug). That was fun, but Mika and I headed home about an hour or so after we got there. For one, it took at least 15 minutes to get a drink from the bar, and two, I just wanted some time alone for the first time on the trip. But all was good, and I found out the boys were just as awesome as I thought they'd be.

After that, we headed back to Noosa for a day, and I got to meet Mika's brother. He was a nice guy, but the complete opposite of Mika personality-wise. The next day we flew over to Melbourne, which turned out to be quite an ordeal since our flight got cancelled and we had to be bussed to a completely different airport to go. But, once we got there, it was all good. We met up with a few of our internet friends the next day, which was a lot of fun. It was great meeting Mel in particular. She was really sweet and seemed like someone I would hang out with on a daily basis if I lived in the same town. The rest of my time was spent record shopping. I came away with about 12, just from one store. Haha, it was a blast. We also went to the zoo and aquarium there. Oh, and we also walked around Albert Park where the Australian Grand Prix is held (F1 nerd here!) That was great. I even picked up some of the coloured gravel! Woohoo!

After Melbourne, we headed to Sydney for a couple of days. I think the most memorable part of that was our shopping in Chinatown, where we bought Japanese pop and bad Japanese porn. It was awesome.

We went back to Brisbane after our trip, where we just relaxed and had a great time for awhile doing pretty much nothing. We went on another trip to Noosa at that time and to the Australia Zoo as well, which has to be the coolest zoo ever, just because you can pet kangaroos and koalas. Seriously...awesome.

The trip ended with the Coldplay concert two nights before I came back. It was my fourth time to see them, and they still make me grin from ear to ear. It was more wonderful this time though since I was with Mika. It was the perfect ending to my trip.

Now that I'm back here, I'm sort of lonely, but I know I don't have long until my wedding, and every moment until then will be filled with schoolwork, so it's not so bad...

3-24-06, Austin

Hello all! Sorry I haven't updated in awhile, I've just been so busy with school and work.

So, I went to the show last night in Austin, and it was amazing. We got a soundcheck and meet and greet, which was great. I even got a hug from Jeordie (swoon...his hair smelled really good, too) and a hug from Aaron.

The actual concert was wonderful. Saul Williams was a great opener. He brought a lot of energy, and he was damn good live. Then came NIN...and what can I say? They were great. That's all I need to say, I think. And the concert was made even more enjoyable because Jeordie's side of the pit wasn't full at all, so I could relax and take photos and shoot video. In fact, here's some of the photos I took...enjoy!

Here's the photo of the ring I promised a few weeks ago. Not much has been happening here except school and work, which are both uneventful. Hope everyone is doing good.

Man, I don't write in here much. I might fix that one day....just not today.

So, I promised an update didn't I? Well, I guess not too much of significant importance has happened other than one thing: I am now engaged to Mika. We got engaged the day he came in, December 15, and we plan to get married on that day this year. I'll post a photo of the ring sometime soon.

Other than that, not much has been happnening. I've just been spending as much time as I can with him until he leaves on Saturday. We've been having a great time just sitting around the apartment and Jupiter House, the little cafe on the square here. I wish it could stay like this, but I know he'll be with me for a long time starting this December.

I hope everyone here is doing well. Write down a little comment and tell me how you've all been!

Hello all! Just a quick note to those few precious people who care to tell you I'm still alive. A whole whole whole lot has happened in the past couple of weeks, but I can't be bothered to write about it now. I will sometime within the next week or so though, I hope. Anyway...yeah, that's about it.

...*awkward end*

Woohoo! I'm not at the bottom.

Take the Dante's Divine Comedy Inferno Test

You have come to a place mute of all light, where the wind bellows as the sea does in a tempest. This is the realm where the lustful spend eternity. Here, sinners are blown around endlessly by the unforgiving winds of unquenchable desire as punishment for their transgressions. The infernal hurricane that never rests hurtles the spirits onward in its rapine, whirling them round, and smiting, it molests them. You have betrayed reason at the behest of your appetite for pleasure, and so here you are doomed to remain. Cleopatra and Helen of Troy are two that share in your fate.
